  14.  (First of all, Thank you very much for even considering registering Raider.
  15. I doubt most people will get this far.)

  17.  So you have just gotten a copy of RAIDER, and like it very much (Well, enough
  18. to shell out some money :-) ). You plan on using it for a long time, and since
  19. the UNREGISTERED VERSION doesn't bother you or your users you don't plan on
  20. registering. But wait, look what you are missing :
  21.  
  22.   Benefits for registered users:
  23.  
  24.  o Registered users receive the latest version of RAIDER on either 5.25 (360K)
  25. or on 3.5 (720K) inch disk (Or you could opt for a quick registration, and D/L
  26. the registration file from Halifax Wildcat!) if their version is not up to
  27. date.
  28.  
  29.  o Your BBS is entered into a list of boards running Raider. (RAIDBBS.TXT)
  30.  
  31.  o You are given my voice number for full support for any problems with RAIDER.
  32.  
  33.  o You don't have to worry about a user becoming irate about your blatant
  34. abuse of the SHAREWARE system, and thus ruining the credibility of your board.
  35.  
  36.  o You will not run the risk of being discovered in breach of agreement with
  37. Federal Copyright. A serious offense, to say the least.
  38.  
  39.  o You will be able to have access to more commands in Raider, as some of them
  40. won't work on Un-Registered versions.
  41.  
  42.  o You are given access to FREE Upgrades of Raider via any BBS that carries a
  43. copy of Raider, as the registration file that you will be given will work with
  44. any version of Raider.

  46.  o You can set your own time limit for the game, not be restricted by 10 min.

  50.  The perfered way for you to get your registration info is to call Halifax
  51. Wildcat! one week after you send out the request to me and download your
  52. registration file. This way you get a registered copy as quickly as possible.
  53.  Besides, the mail systems can be hard on disks, and I can't afford to send it
  54. through registered mail (not without jacking up the cost to you).
  55.  Since Raider is designed to use a serial number, the file to D/L is only about
  56. 1k long.
  57.  
  58.  If you don't want to do this for various reasons, you can skip this paragraph.
  59.  
  60.  If you wish to get your copy from Halifax Wildcat!, mark off the area called
  61. BBS Reg on the form. The file will be contained in the Halifax Wildcat! file
  62. section (Area ) called Chris Forgeron Raider Stuff.
  63.  You will know which file is yours from the file description. It will be
  64. password protected through the BBS with your phone number in the format of
  65. xxx-xxx-xxxx. Just enter your VOICE phone number (The one you put on the
  66. following form) as the password, and you will be able to D/L it. A quick
  67. message to me or the sysop telling us that you received the file would be
  68. welcome, so we can delete it as soon as possible.
  69.  I will keep an eye on who is getting their files, and will call if you don't
  70. D/L your copy in two weeks (to see what the problem is).

  77.  SHAREWARE is 'Try before you buy' software. This allows you the freedom to
  78. examine the software at your leisure before you decide to buy. Since there is
  79. no way to enforce this, SHAREWARE is often abused. I hope you can understand
  80. how much time and effort programmers spend on these things. Your support really
  81. keeps us going. We wouldn't be asking for money if we were rich. :-)

  142.  I hereby agree to not give out my registration number to anyone, and will do
  143. all I can to keep it secret. I realize that allowing others access to the
  144. number can only lead to pirating of the Raider software which will hurt the
  145. development of the Raider program.
  146.  I realize that problems can arise with the transport of the Raider program,
  147. and with the transport of the payment through the mail system, and that items
  148. do get lost or damaged, and I agree that the Author of this program (Chris
  149. Forgeron) is not responsible in any way, shape, or form for the loss or damage
  150. of the Raider registration package or the registration payment, although the
  151. aforementioned author will do everything possible to ensure a safe transport.
